We've noticed over the last week that a lot of our favourite bridal boutiques have been sharing some stunning new gowns from British and international bridal designers as they have been attending shows at London Bridal Fashion Week 2018.
Our advice to you - pay close attention. Getting that sneak peek from industry insiders is a great way to see how your own personal wedding style translates in gowns which will be available to you as a 2019 and beyond bride. Obviously, some things don't change. You will always be able to get a figure hugging Mermaid, or a voluminous Ballgown, but embellishments, applique and trends vary every season. I noticed (much to my own personal pleasure) that sleeves are not looking to go anywhere, with a host of designers making them a key theme in their 2019 collections - a win for girls who feel naked with their arms completely exposed.
But what is available for those of you looking for your dress right now? Well, I've rounded up a few of my favourite designer gowns available in Northern Ireland from some of my favourite independent bridal boutiques to give you some ideas.
Zelda by Rebecca Ingram

The stunning Zelda dress from Rebecca Ingram features a beaded lace bodice, a sweetheart neckline and cap sleeves with a flattering fit and flare skirt in soft tulle. Covered buttons give an elegant touch to the look, perfect for brides who shy away from corset fastenings. I love the drama this dress creates with the illusion low back. I'd love it teamed with a delicate belt to emphasize the waistline and make your curves pop.
This dress, and more from the Rebecca Ingram collection are available from Carrickfergus based bridal boutique Exquisite Bridal. They will be exhibiting at The Creative Wedding Fair (our very own bridal showcase event in Belfast Loughshore Hotel on Sunday 8th April 2018), showing off some of their beautiful collection of designer gowns.
Raine Dress by Anna Campbell

This dress is vintage inspired styling goals. Handcrafted in Australia by artisan craftspeople, the Raine dress is absolutely stunning with it's silver and ivory toned beading, embellished straps and an open back finished with the designer's iconic silk bow. Pictured with an embellished skirt (which I absolutely love), this dress is customized for each bride and comes in a range of skirt options to help you reflect your bridal style and make you feel incredible on your wedding day. The beading on this dress is sublime and designed to flatter your shape which is great, plus it would look absolutely amazing in your photographs. I'm a little bit in live with it, I'm not going to lie.
This dress, along with others from the Anna Campbell collection can be found at Lisburn based bridal boutique Ivy and White .
Lola by Daughters of Simone

This dress is every bohemian girl's dream. Soft, flattering cotton crochet lace oozes laid back vintage style, while the low cut back and train provides drama, drama, drama. I'm absolutely in love with the high neckline at the front of the dress (check out their website for more images) which grazes the collarbone and the bodice which is fitted perfectly to create a soft hourglass shape, then flares at the knee.
This stunning design is available exclusively in Northern Ireland courtesy of Belfast based boutique Archive 12, who specialise in vintage and bohemian styling.
Cerys by Catherine Parry Bridal

This mermaid dress from British designer Catherine Parry is a must for any bride who wants to show off her curves but also wants a timeless dress. Crafted from beautiful soft lace, it's adorned with delicate crystals offering a subtle touch of sparkle as you walk down the aisle. I'd team it with a pretty beaded belt too - a personal must-have for setting off an hourglass figure - and go for the stunning blush option as an alternative to the ivory gown shown. The scalloped detailing on the open back and capped sleeves is amazing. This gown is definitely on my must try list.
This dress is available from Larne based bridal salon Bridal Elegance Boutique (who will also be exhibiting with us at The Creative Wedding Fair this Sunday).
Those are just four of my favourite gowns from the current collections available in Northern Ireland, but there are thousands of dresses to choose from all across the country, so get out and get looking ladies - your dress is out there!
